Don't forget to turn in your project books for the AgChoice Farm Credit project awards! You will find a form in the newsletter or you can pick up one in the Extension Office. Completed forms are due on August 31st to the Extension Office.
The 4-H project books will be judged at the September 4-H Development Committee meeting. Awards will be handed out at the October Leadership Recognition Banquet.

The Box Social will be held directly before the 4-H Awards Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 9th.
This is a great time to meet new people and have a good time!

Exchange Club Fundraiser!!!
Come Support Exchange Club!!!
The Venango County 4-H Exchange Club will be holding a fundraiser on Monday July 14 from 5-8 p.m. at the Franklin Pizza Hut (136 Atlantic Avenue, Franklin). Exchange Club members will be serving. Fifteen percent of buffet sales and all tips will benefit the club trip to Williamsburg and Busch Gardens in July!!!
So come to Pizza Hut Monday night and order the buffet!!!!

Quality Assurance Credits for 2008
Meat Quality Assurance Round Robin
When: June 21, 10 – 11:30am
Where: Waterford Fairgrounds, Waterford PA
Calling all 4-H’ers who still need Quality Assurance Credits for 2008 and all youth planning on taking a pig to the Farm Show in 2009! Erie County 4-H will be holding a Round Robin Quality Assurance Program about the 10 Good Production Practices in raising meat production animals. The event will be held on Sat., June 21, from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. in, or just outside, the Youth Arena at the Waterford Fairgrounds. You will learn valuable information about raising and caring for market livestock animals while travelling through several hands-on learning stations. This event will earn you two Quality Assurance credits for 2008 and will also certify you in the Youth Pork Quality Assurance pro-gram, which is required for all youth exhibiting swine at the PA Farm Show. Registration is not required, but you may contact the office if you have questions about the event at (814) 825-0900.

This evening will focus on careers in animal health and nutrition. Quality assurance credits will be offered and Mercer County Ag Development Council will provide pizza.
